They arrived at the church at 3:30 and began the process of loading all of the equipment and supplies into the bus. There was too much to fit on the church bus, so they loaded up my van and we were on our way. Once at the airport, the check-in process went fairly smoothly, but then we realized we were one team member short. Due to an issue with a power failure, his alarm did not wake him up and even though he made it to the airport he was unable to get onto the flight. He is currently en route to Atlanta to catch the next leg of the trip.
Prayer requests for today:
- Safety for the team members traveling to Atlanta by car (Jim Beard and Mark Fisher)
- Safety for team members traveling from Texas today (Alex, Mark Faulkner, Scott, Jimmy)
- Safety for Jesse, who is traveling from Indiana to Atlanta this morning
- Dr. David Jarret, whose flight out of Washington D.C. was cancelled due to the snow storm, will be traveling tomorrow.
- Pray that the flights to Santo Domingo will go as smoothly as possible and that the rental car situation will not be an issue when they arrive.
- Pray that the team will be able to weather any obstacles they encounter during their travels today. It is important that they remain flexible and not get discouraged when inevitable issues arise.
- Pray that the men will begin to bond with one another so that they can more effectively show God's love to the hurting people of Haiti.
- Pray for the Haitian people who are still in the midst of disaster and tragedy, even after a month of recovery time.
As I was typing this, Jeremy called and the Birmingham team is safely on the ground in Atlanta. The flight for Santo Domingo leaves at 8:45.

ReplyDeleteYes, thank you for the updates!!! After finally falling back to sleep at 4:00am, I overslept for church this morning -- woke up at 7:10!!! -- and you know I was on PT today!!! hahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteGuy’s, I was asked to sing this morning before the sermon this morning at Church. At any rate, just wanted to let you know that while I had the pulpit, I asked the congregation to keep each of you in their prayers. I was assured my many after the service that they would.
